Andrew Easton

Biography: In my time as an educator in the classroom and in my current role as a district-wide personalized learning coordinator, I have dedicated considerable time to exploring opportunities for the effective implementation of technology to personalize the learning experience for all learners. In these roles, I have leveraged tech to facilitate differentiation across a variety of classroom practices, to educate learners on how to utilize resources, and to broaden the tech repertoire of students empowering them to create their own content. Currently, I am developing a personalized learning website that features video, podcast, and blog content showcasing educator success stories with personalization. This initiative has allowed me to further develop my personal tech niche – producing video content. These experiences permitted opportunities for me to present on instructional video production, gamification, personalized learning, and app-smashing within and outside of Nebraska. Additionally, these practices garnered me the distinction of Nebraska’s 2016 PBS Lead Digital Innovator, and subsequently, I was able to promote public education and effective technology use in a recent NET commercial. I am passionate about the positive role technology can play in fostering agency in today’s learners to help them better navigate and be innovative our world in the future.
