Running For: Board of Director | Grand Island Public Schools

Biography

I am a Technology Integration Specialist and Makerspace Coordinator at Jefferson and West Lawn Elementaries for Grand Island Public Schools. I get to teach media/library and technology skills to approximately 650 of the most amazing little humans on the planet and am inspired by them every day to try new things in the arena of technology. Being a member of the NETA Board of Directors would give me the chance to continue to grow as a professional and garner ideas for new and unique experiences with my students. In addition to teaching classes, I serve as a member of my district’s Integration Task Force and Makerspace Task Force. These roles have given me the skills needed to be a valuable member of the NETA Board of Directors. I strongly believe in its organizational vision to “promote utilization of appropriate technology to support quality teaching and learning” and work hard to do so within my two school buildings. I want to empower teachers to leverage technology in their classrooms with their learners. To be able to serve colleagues in this ever-changing world of educational technology would be an opportunity I would be more than willing to take advantage of.
