Biography

Dr. Wendy Loewenstein is a passionate educator who strives for the personalization of education for all students and staff. As the director of the virtual school, she is responsible for the curriculum, instruction, and assessment of staff and students. Wendy is excited to continue to expand the virtual school to 9th grade for the 2017-18 school year.

Dr. Loewenstein joined Omaha Public Schools in 2016 as an instructional technology trainer, and facilitated the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) program for the district. In addition, she worked closely with executive directors, building principals, and curriculum specialists with technology integration initiatives.

Previously, Wendy worked at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the College of Education as the IDEAS Room Coordinator and a part-time faculty member in the library science department. Prior to working at UNO, she was a high school librarian, elementary school librarian, and a high school English teacher with Bellevue Public Schools.
