To help you get started, here are some tips for a successful session proposal\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Take time to reflect on current tools, instructional strategies or innovative processes you\u2019re using.\u00a0 You might start by considering these prompts:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">What instructional tool or strategy has been especially successful in your classroom?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">What learning or classroom management challenges have you successfully addressed by using a tech-supported process or tool?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">How did you use a common tech tool in a new way to better engage students?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">What process did you create to share what you\u2019ve learned with colleagues?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">How are you best connecting with parents and community members?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">What have you done to make content more relevant for your students through social media or use of tech tools?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Once you\u2019ve narrowed your ideas down to 1 or 2, talk to colleagues to get some feedback.\u00a0 Are they excited to learn more about that topic? Do they have suggestions to help you refine your ideas or group them in a way to better share your message?\u00a0 Incorporate their feedback then get started writing the proposal!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Choose a specific\u00a0 topic<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Vague:\u00a0 Google Docs\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Specific:\u00a0 HyperDocs for math choice boards\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Target a specific audience<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Vague:\u00a0 classroom teachers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Specific:\u00a0 upper elementary teachers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>If you are presenting on a popular tech tool (G Suite tools, Seesaw, etc.), decide how to make your session unique.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Vague:\u00a0 HyperDocs with G Suite<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Specific:\u00a0 HyperDoc Stations for Voice and Choice in Elementary Classrooms<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Use your description to detail the specific content of your session\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Vague:\u00a0 In this session, I\u2019ll share how Google Docs was used in our elementary classroom last year for student projects.\u00a0 I will share samples of student work and share challenges and successes in our use of Docs with Chromebooks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Specific:\u00a0 Our 3rd graders knocked our socks off with their use of HyperDocs for math stations in our 1:1 Chromebook classrooms.\u00a0 Learn how we balanced Chromebook work with paper\/pencil to improve engagement. See how choice boards helped us differentiate and document student learning.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Go back to your peers for their feedback. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The most mentioned evaluation feedback we get from sessions at the NETA conference is that the Title and Description did not match the session content.\u00a0 So ask:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">What do you expect from a session with this title?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Does this title match the description of my session?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">What would you expect to take away from this session?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Submit your session in advance of the deadline! <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Session submissions opened in May for the Nebraska Fall Ed Tech Conference and will close July 1st.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Don\u2019t wait until the last minute.\u00a0 We\u2019ve found that when people rush through the application process they may miss important fields or even forget to click the submit button!\u00a0 You\u2019re doing great work and we want to showcase it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lynne Herr Tips to Write a Good Session Proposal Now Recruiting . . .YOU!
