Organizing a media day for high school students provided a unique and privileged opportunity to delve into the world of photography and storytelling. The Milford Journalism class had the honor to learn from the expertise of <\/span>Dante Boelhower <\/span>of <\/span>Dante Boelhower <\/span>Media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The day began with Dante sharing his photography journey and many of his digital media designs. The students were introduced to the fundamentals of capturing compelling images through camera settings, composition techniques, and the importance of lighting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the initial lessons, Dante guided the students to apply their new knowledge in a practical setting, allowing them to experiment with various camera angles and lighting setups. This hands-on session instilled confidence in the students, helping them to understand how different angles and light sources can dramatically affect the mood and clarity of a photograph.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To help curate the short video clip, students enhanced their images using Adobe Lightroom techniques, adjusting exposure, contrast, and color to achieve professional-quality results.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Milford Journalism students are actively applying their newfound knowledge to effectively communicate our school’s story through visual media. They have completed the fall media day photo shoot and are currently editing photos for buttons, social media, and a fall video highlight, showcasing their ongoing contribution to the school’s storytelling.<\/span><\/p>\n
