Dr. Mike Lucas

Mike Lucas is in his 10th year as superintendent in York. Prior to that, he served Franklin Public Schools for six years as superintendent and high school principal. He also served as elementary principal and migrant education director for West Point Public Schools. Mike began his career in Kansas as a 3rd grade teacher and high school football and basketball coach.

Mike is originally from Florida. He attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas where he played football, earned a degree in elementary education, and met his wife, Liesl, who is originally from Omaha. Mike and Liesl have four children and one son-in-law.
