Biography
Biography: The 2018-2019 school year is my twelfth in education, and I have had the good fortune of serving students and teachers at Westside Community Schools for four years as a secondary English teacher and more recently as a Personalized Learning Collaborator for the past two. In my current role, I have had an opportunity to brainstorm with educators at all levels, K-12, and co-design learner-centered practices that leverage technology to personalize the learning experience for our students. That is how I spend each day, collaborating with teachers towards developing innovative pedagogical practices (and I love what I do). Effective technology integration has always been a passion of mine, and as such, I currently serve as a BlendEd Coach for the ESUCC/NCSA BlendEd Best Practices Project and as an eMerge leader (tech coach) in District 66. Additionally, in 2016 I was named the PBS Lead Digital Innovator for the state of Nebraska, which was a recognition that afforded me an opportunity to advocate for tech integration statewide. My interest in joining the board is to continue to be a proponent for furthering blended and personalized best practices across Nebraska and to be a voice for the classroom practitioner.
