Biography
Biography: In 32 years in education my experiences include being parent to four children ending up in STEM or STEAM careers, serving as an educational assistant, and being a junior high coach and classroom science teacher. I have also taught at the graduate level, and have served in positions as district technology coordinator and currently as district director of technology. We started our high school 1:1 program at Westside Community Schools 15 years ago and we expanded it to K-12 five years ago.
I am currently the chair of the Nebraska Association of Technology Administrators and have chaired both The Knowledge Network board and the Metropolitan Omaha Education Consortium Technology Task Force. I have presented at NETA conferences and have co-authored multiple NETA newsletter articles with past-president, Dr. Matt Lee. I have earned both my Masters and Ph.D in Instructional Technology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
As educators our focus should not be upon technology itself but rather on what it inspires and enables our students to learn and do. I hope to serve the NETA community by drawing upon my experiences including my successes, mistakes, and failures.
