Biography
The 2019-2020 school year is my thirteenth year in education and seventh as a part of Westside Community Schools. I am a proud father of two, and I appreciate having the opportunity to invest in the same district that my own children attend. As an educator and a parent, I am passionate about instructional practices that afford students the opportunity to personalize their learning. Blended best practices are an integral part of any personalization model, and as such, my interest in joining the NETA board comes from a want to amplify my ability to advocate that tech tools be used to create and support learner-centered learning. For the past three years, I’ve served District 66 as a personalized learning coach, and in this role, I’ve had a chance to collaborate with teachers on designing personalized practices across the K-12 landscape. This opportunity to work closely with teachers from a variety of subject areas and levels has profoundly shaped my perspective on education, and when I have had the opportunity to lead, I speak from that collective experience. I am seeking that very opportunity now as I look to join the NETA Board of Directors and would greatly appreciate your support.
