Crystal Ernst

In my ten years as a Nebraska educator, I have had the privilege of teaching almost all grade levels and subject areas. These opportunities have also allowed me to learn the story of several school districts and to develop an understanding of what the different educational needs are across the state. I am passionate about the benefits technology integration brings to the classroom. Technology has given my students the opportunity to collaborate with others across the world, create for an authentic audience, and experience places through virtual reality. Additionally, through technology, I have been able to build a supportive PLN and access ideas and tools to make me the educator I am today. All of these came from professional development sponsored by NETA. I want to serve on the NETA Board of Directors so I can give back to an organization that has given me invaluable support. I love that NETA does not focus on just technology, but on good pedagogical practice that improves the learning environment. I want to see the organization continue to focus on best practice and integration of ISTE and Nebraska academic standards and subject areas.
