Last Minute Stocking Stuffers for Techy Teachers

By Kyleigh Lewis

We always have last minute shopping to complete before the holidays. We know this can be very tedious and with our minds running all over the place preparing for the end of the semester, the stocking stuffers for our techy teachers may be sitting empty. What do you get for a teacher who can problem solve any issue that is thrown their way? Some of the smallest gifts go a long way for increasing teacher time and decreasing technology problems in a classroom. Check out some great stocking stuffers that meet the needs of teacher’s wish list:

Wireless Mouse

Seems like a pretty basic gift, but the versatility of a wireless mouse continues to grow as technology continues to develop. The ability to use a wireless mouse with computers and interactive boards allows our teachers to grow their teacher tool belt and increase productivity levels. Remove yourself from your SmartBoard, Promethean Board, or ClearTouch Panel by connecting a wireless mouse into your USB port. You no longer are glued to the board and now have the ability to roam the room, interact with students, and engage learners from all corners of your classroom. Do not worry about purchasing batteries for their stockings, many wireless mouse models are rechargeable; however, make sure that you have the correct charging and adapter ports. This particular model can be used with a USB or USB-C port.

Presentation Remote

Presentation remotes are not just for big staff presentations or public speaking events. With this LogiTech presentation remote, teachers can add diversity and accessibility for students into every day presentations. You can use it to magnify the screen, highlight points of emphasis, and/or use the laser point to draw attention to detail. To regroup students in class, utilize and cast the black screen feature, momentarily. Presentation remotes allow teachers to converse and move around the room, but still interact with their computer and progress slide presentations.

Stylus Pen

Apple pencils are a great gift, but not always the most cost effective purchase for the tech lovers in our schools. When you gift a stylus pen to our teachers, you give them the opportunity to take digital handwritten notes, have more precise interactions with their iPads. This stylus pen allows for precision with the tip and does not have interruption with palm contact to the screen. The battery life and touch features allow for easy implementation and use. Draw your next digital masterpiece using this stylus that does not require bluetooth pairing to use.

Tracker: Tile or Apple AirTag

We all know a few teachers who misplace some of their day-to-day items: keys, iPads, computers, and/or purses. With tracking devices, take your mind off losing items and focus on finding them. Both Tile and Apple AirTags make great gifts for everyone in your life. Attach them to your keys and ID cards, or stick them to your wallets and electronic devices. They even work on tracking down the class guinea pig that tends to escape their cage. Both devices require an app download to track your items.

Gift Cards

Finally, all tech teachers have long technology lists. Let them make some classroom decisions with a gift card. Give them all the opportunities in the world with an Amazon or Walmart gift card, or be more thoughtful with a subscription to their favorite digital technology site or program. Blooket, Classkick, and GimKit are great options for paid subscriptions to provide unique and diversified learning experiences in classrooms.
