Biography

I am a recent Nebraska transplant. My career started in New Jersey, where I was an early adopter of NewsELA and worked to get it into every classroom of her school. I found that I had a natural knack for incorporating the (at the time) Google Suite into my writing classes, and continued to explore the world of Google – eventually becoming Google Levels 1 & 2 certified. My goal with educational technology is to ensure that it is being used efficiently as a tool in my classroom – and to empower other educators to recognize how technology use looks for them and their curriculum.

I currently teach 7th grade reading, and represent a way for NETA to reach other ELA educators and demonstrate how educational technology can be seamlessly integrated to all classrooms, regardless of subject matter. I think it’s important for our students to also recognize that while technology may naturally be more aligned to the sciences or math, that it extends across the curriculum and is applicable to all kinds of situations.

In my spare time, I like to read, run, and watch The Great British Bake-off.
