Jodi Chapek

Biography: I’m in the middle of my teaching career, with nothing more than improving my elementary classroom on my horizon, except NETA Board of Directors! I’ve loved using technology in my first grade classroom, coaching multiple robotics teams and I’ve enjoyed participating in and presenting at NETA events. However, I desire to grasp it from the inside, to get involved. I want to construct an enhanced NETA experience for the rural schools and for the Early Childhood teachers. Sometimes early childhood classrooms can get overlooked when it comes to technology. I want to make sure that the tiny voices are heard and that we, as early childhood teachers, can use technology to promote standards and objectives. Furthermore, the rural school districts do not always have the overarching coach or resources when it comes to teaching with technology. We can have more leeway to make decisions about how we teach, but that can be hard too. I’ve got passion to use STEM in the classroom. I can work towards getting supports for these two underrepresented groups. I want to expand and get involved with something bigger, and NETA sounds right up my alley.
