Topics will include automatic field recognition, different types of fields, enabling the form for Reader, distributing the form, compiling form information and exporting the data to Excel. Sarpy/Washington Exploring New Territories with CPS Clickers Gregg Robke In this workshop you will learn the basic set up, creation and implementation strategies to assist you in using your CPS clickers on a regular basis. Come and experience hands-on training where you will have an opportunity to create both formative and summative assessments that you can take back to school and implement. Items to bring to the workshop include: class rosters, sample lesson plans, textbooks, examples of formative assessments. If time allows, workshop participants will take CPS one step further and look at using state standards with CPS, PPT for CPS, review games, ExamView, using your Interactive Whiteboard or Chalkboard with CPS and alternative uses of CPS in the daily classroom. Join us as we look at what components a wiki is made up of, where on the web we may create one, and what uses you may have for one in the classroom. Windows Lab Interactive Whiteboards – Kid Magnets That Keep Their Interest Graci Gillming Are you looking for a way to make your lessons more interesting? Come see how to use interactive whiteboards (SMART Board and Mimeo) to engage students and focus their attention while exploring the Internet or using productivity applications, such as Office or Inspiration. You’ll learn the basics of creating your own interactive lessons that can be used multiple times. This workshop seeks educators in a Windows environment who are eager to learn about podcasting and what it has to offer in the educational world! We will start off with the basics of what podcasting is and explain how it works, then we will work through creating podcasts and publishing them to the internet. Sarpy/Washington GPS: Helping Students Map the Future Bob Goeman and Paul Clark Are you ready to give your students the opportunity to bring real-world data into classroom activities? In this workshop, you will learn how to utilize GPS technology to develop and implement innovative curriculum using Web 2.0 and open-source applications. You will get hands-on experience using a GPS in the field, then learn to sync the data from the GPS to a computer, integrate GPS tracks into mapping applications such as Google Earth, and much more. In this workshop will also experience GPS techniques with hands-on geocaching and use the digital data and online resources in support of educational learning opportunities and lesson planning. Windows Lab Movie Making Crash Course for Teachers with Premiere Elements Linda Dickeson Tell a story, do a documentary, record a public service announcement and much more! This workshop will teach the basics of making movies with Premiere Elements, starting with a simple movie organized "storyboard fashion" on the Sceneline with a soundtrack and moving into adding multiple video tracks in the Timeline, learning how to animate clips using keyframes, and adding text for rolling credits. Windows Lab Exploring New Communication Territories with WordPress Ken Messersmith New interactive Web 2.0 applications are expanding the possibilities for communication between teachers and their partners in the educational process. The focus of this workshop will be on ways to use Web 2.0 tools to facilitate communication between you and your students, parents, and community members. We will use a Web-based system called WordPress. It is a flexible and customizable tool for both blogging and creating Web pages. Participants in this workshop will create a professional and easy to maintain classroom Web site to help with the connection between teachers and their partners in and out of the classroom.
